Money to Burn! Aerosmith Donates $10,000 to Burn Program of the Massachusetts General Hospital
BOSTON, Oct. 29 /PRNewswire/ -- It was announced today that rock band
Aerosmith has made a gift of $10,000 to the Massachusetts General Hospital on
behalf of their drummer Joey Kramer, who was treated there last month after he
was burned in a gasoline fire near his home in Massachusetts. Joey sustained
burns to his arms and legs when his car caught fire at a gas station in
Scituate, MA. He was taken immediately to the South Shore Hospital for
several hours and then released. The next day, he was taken to Massachusetts
General where he was treated. He then attended the hospital each day for
several weeks as an outpatient and is now fully recovered.
"Without the care and time taken by the entire staff of the burn unit at
Massachusetts General Hospital," Joey states, "I don't think my rehabilitation
would have been so speedy. The tireless efforts of this extraordinary bunch
enabled me to get back on the road as soon as possible. It's hard to find the
words to thank such a special group of people -- particularly Colleen Ryan --
who deserves a medal."
The hospital's Burn Program provides comprehensive outpatient care for
individuals with acute and reconstructive burn care needs. It is part of the
MGH Regional Burn & Trauma Program, the only program in the United States that
is verified at the highest level by the American College of Surgeons as an
adult and pediatric trauma center and as an adult and pediatric burn center.
Aerosmith's gift provides much-needed funding for the expansion of MGH's
outpatient services to burn victims.
Thanks to the excellent care he received, Mr. Kramer is now fighting fit and
is currently on the road with Aerosmith to resume their mega-successful Nine
Lives World Tour. This time the band will be taking in 40 cities across 20 of
the country's Mid-west, Eastern and Southern states, together with three stops
in Canada. Their two hour show will include their #1 smash hit 'I Don't Want
To Miss A Thing.'
This latest leg of the 'Nine Lives' World Tour coincides with the release of a
double live album from the band, released October 20, entitled 'A Little South
of Sanity.'

- Cybercast Rebroadcast
As most of you probably know Aerosmith made Internet history on Saturday, October 17, 1998 with their Internet broadcast of the sold-out show at the PNC Bank Arts center in Holmdel, New Jersey.
Since the event being so successful, Aerosmith has agreed to rebroadcast on Wednesday, November 4 at 7 p.m. (EST), using both Microsoft Windows Media and Real Networks Real Media.
For more info keep reading....
NEW YORK, Oct. 26 /PRNewswire/ -- America's premier rock band, Aerosmith,
broke cyberspace records on Saturday, October 17, 1998 with the success of
their Internet broadcast, previewing songs from their new double live album "A
Little South of Sanity."
In what was their first truly interactive Cybercast (produced and directed by
New York-based experts Live On Line), Aerosmith performed more than two hours
of songs from their latest release (Geffen Records, October 20), live from the
band's sold-out show at the PNC Bank Arts center in Holmdel, New Jersey. With
120,000 streams, this was the largest single artist webcast since the medium's
inception.
With the event being so successful, Aerosmith has agreed to rebroadcast on
Wednesday, November 4 at 7 p.m. (EST), using both Microsoft Windows Media
(Nasdaq: MSFT) and Real Networks Real Media (Nasdaq: RNQK). Please see below
for details on how to obtain both of these products.
Designed to showcase the live material from "Sanity," their latest 23-track
release, the October 17 cybercast broke new ground, as well as existing
records, in that for the first time ever, viewers were able to direct their
own programs, switching live between seven separate camera feeds, each
broadcasting a different perspective of the concert. Producer Jack Douglas
mixed the outgoing audio feed to keep the webcast as true to the live album as
possible.
With all five Aerosmith band members outfitted with special wireless microwave
cameras, broadcasting their individual points-of-view from the stage, and a
feed that combined three front-of-house cameras, capturing the on-stage
action, cybercast viewers were able to select what to watch at any given time,
swapping between the feeds at will to create their own unique programs.
Using remarkably small, lightweight surveillance technology, singer Steven
Tyler's perspective of the 20,000 capacity crowd was captured by a camera
attached to his signature, scarf-covered microphone stand, while the Perry Cam
was mounted on a chain around the guitarist's neck. Generating bassist Tom
Hamilton's p.o.v., the Hamilton Cam was inset into the crown of his hat, while
the Whitford Cam was hidden in a specially made pair of the guitarist's
glasses. Drummer Joey Kramer's perspective was transmitted from a camera
mounted across his chest. The sixth on-stage feed was broadcast from a
swiveling remote-controlled camera, fixed to one of the monitors, that was
able to film both the band and the front row of the audience. The remaining
feed gave a more traditional, real-time perspective of the show, combining
images from three cameras positioned front-of-house (which was also broadcast
onto the large video screens in the venue).
People wanting to register for the rebroadcast should go to
http://www.aerosmith.com at least 24 hours in advance. Here they will find
links on the registration page to download the necessary tools to watch the
event, as well as a test area to make sure that the tools have been installed
correctly.

- Steven Tyler needs additional knee surgery
Press Release:
January's Aerosmith show in Tupelo, MS canceled
Singer Steven Tyler scheduled for additional knee surgery in early '99
January's Aerosmith show, that was announced last week, will not go on sale
tomorrow (Saturday October 24) as originally planned, as the band's schedule
has had to be changed to allow singer Steven Tyler to go back in for additional
knee surgery.
Following an anterior cruciate ligament injury in late April of this year Tyler
was admitted to the hospital for reconstructive surgery on his leg. After four
months of rehabilitation to his knee the band returned to the road, making up
US summer dates that had been postponed.
Unfortunately, doctors have now confirmed that Tyler obviously went out before
the knee was fully healed and that if her continues, past the end of the year,
the repeated performances will cause further serious damage.
All dates for 1998 will remain unchanged. Future dates for next year will be
announced shortly.

- Cybersleaze gossip column
The following posts were in the Metaverse Cybersleaze gossip column for
today
LIV TYLER AND JOAQUIN PHOENIX CALL IT QUITS:
Leading indie acting queen
LIV
TYLER and longtime beau JOAQUIN PHOENIX have reportedly called it
quits on their relationship
after three years. Apparently Tyler, who is the daughter of
AEROSMITH frontman STEVEN
TYLER, dumped her longtime love to start dating English rocker
ROYSTON LANGDON who is
(or should we say WAS) one of Phoenix's friends!! Langston (who I
can confirm is quite a
hottie...) is a member of the NYC- based band glam rock band
SPACEHOG. Langston and Tyler
have recently been spotted getting cuddly in some of the more
dimly lit New York nightspots. The
two probably met when Tyler and Phoenix went on a road trip with
some of the members of the
band. Ironically, Joaquin recently went on the DAVID LETTERMAN
SHOW and spent the entire
time talking about his "good friends" in SPACEHOG and the
fantastic road trip they had all just
taken together! Doh!! No wonder he refused to tell Dave anything
about his relationship with Liv
when Dave asked him!
Meanwhile, Tyler's family doesn't seem to be too upset about the
latest turn of events. Tyler's
mother BEBE BUELL confirmed the couple's split recently and added
that she was pretty pleased
that her daughter and Phoenix had parted ways. Apparently the
actor, who is the brother of the late
RIVER PHOENIX, was considered by Momma to be a bit quirky and
perhaps not the most reliable
of boyfriends for her daughter. However, we should probably
caution Liv's momma that we have
partied hearty with the Spacehog boys and can confirm that
reliability is not really Royston's middle
name either. But, then again, Buell knows all about what it is
like to date a rocker. Aside from her
Liv-producing affair with Steven Tyler she also had flings with
ELVIS COSTELLO and TODD
RUNDGREN.
SPEAKING OF THE TYLER CLAN: While we are gossiping about his
daughter, we should
probably give poppa Tyler his props as well. Although he is
certainly getting a tad long in the tooth,
he and da boyz have packed their Grecian Formula and are back on
tour as we speak. In fact, a
Sleaze fan recently wrote in to rave about their latest NYC
performance. While I tend to think that
Tyler and Co. are a bit past their prime, apparently they still
know how to put on a fabulous show.
Sleaze fan Mick wrote in with the following observations:
"I just thought you might like to know about an Aerosmith
Concert that I attended at the
Jones Beach Amphitheater in New York on Thursday night. The
place was completely sold
out despite the fact that the venue was outdoors and the
weather was freezing. You had the
usual crowd that you expect to see at an Aerosmith concert,
aging hipsters and teenagers.
The opening band was FUEL and they were pretty good but
could not compare to
Aerosmith. Despite the wearing of a knee brace, STEVEN TYLER
can still definitely dance
and jump around on stage for nearly two hours straight. I
also have to say that JOE PERRY
has replaced SLASH with a god-like persona. The guy is
incredible but his choice of facial
hair (a patch on each side of his lips) must go. Anyway, the
boys played most of their old
stuff including SWEET EMOTION which led in to a great
rendition of LED ZEPPELIN's
classic song HEARTBREAKER. The concert was incredible and
TYLER and the boys can
still rock."
Ok, Mick. We still think that stupid ARMAGEDDON song was utter
cheese, but SWEET
EMOTION rocks and DREAM ON still gets me every time. Not to
mention, of course, their
brilliant pairing with RUN DMC for WALK THIS WAY. So, I'll give ya
the benefit of the doubt on
this one.

Liv and Joaquin Kaput?

Has one of Hollywood's sturdiest
young couples finally decided to
call it quits? The New York
Daily News reports that longtime
honeys Liv Tyler, 19, and
Joaquin Phoenix, 23, "are on the
outs."
The twosome, who fell in love on the set of the 1997 film Inventing
the Abbotts, recently broke up, a friend tells the paper. "They still
care a lot for each other but just couldn't work it out," the helpful pal says.
Mouthpieces for both Tyler, last seen emoting in Armageddon, and
Phoenix, currently starring in Clay Pigeons, are keeping
mum on the state of the relationship.
But, as always, keep in mind that the couple has been
dogged by similar rumors in the past, and they were very much
together at the Clay Pigeons premiere in September, dancing cheek to
cheek.
"I fell in love the second I saw him," Liv has said of
Phoenix. "What I felt," Phoenix has said, "was that I have a new friend, a really great friend."

Man Files Lawsuit Against Aerosmith
CONCORD, Calif. (AP) -- Mark Nieto says he's heard more than enough of
Aerosmith.
Nieto has sued the rock group, saying its concert a year ago cost him his
hearing. He alleges he suffered permanent hearing loss after the show at
Concord Pavilion, a city-owned amphitheater named as a co-defendant in the
lawsuit filed Monday.
Nieto contends he has continuous ringing in his ears. He says he was "not aware of warnings for ear damage" when he attended the band's "Nine Lives"
concert in October 1997.
"We'll look into it, but this is a new one," said City Attorney Richard Doyle. "This is a first."
The lawsuit seeks unspecified damages for medical expenses and wage losses.

- Boston Globe
There was a review/interview thing on "A little South of Sanity"
in Yesterday's Boston Globe (October 16th)
"AEROSMITH ROCKS BACK WITH LIVE CD"
Aerosmith has evoked both praise and criticism for the slickness of its
recent hit, "I Don't [Want To] Miss A Thing," a Diane Warren-penned tune
from the "Armaggedon" soundtrack that became the band's first No. 1
song. But no such argument should accompany Aerosmith's new twin-CD live
set, "A Little South of Sanity," which rocks as hard as any live record
in memory. Forget the slickness.
"This is a real live record," says Aerosmith drummer Joey Kramer, on the
phone from New York. "It's the band playing live on stage and there's
not going back into the studio and redoing stuff and making it sound all
pretty. It's the band on stage, mistakes and all. What you hear is what
you get."
And what you hear is excellent, even by Aerosmith's lofty stage
standards. The recordings are taken from various shows from Boston's
FleetCenter to venues across the world during the band's "Nine Lives"
and "Get a Grip" tours of the last five years.
"The album is really up-to-date," says Kramer, who returns with his
mates to the FleetCenter Dec. 31 and the Worcester Centrum Centre Jan.
2. "There might be four or five songs from the "Get a Grip" tour, but
the rest of it is all from "Nine Lives.'"
The new live set, which comes out Tuesday, follows the general song list
of Aerosmith's latter-year shows, starting with a whomping Steven
Tyler/Joe Perry-driven "Eat the Rich." Tyler also launches wild screams
on the drug-exorcising "Money on My Back" and, in another feverish
moment, dedicates "Mama Kin" to the Boston club the band owns by that
name. "To the people that go to Mama Kin and work at Mama Kin and hang
at Mama Kin," Tyler shouts.
The live set actually represents a contractual obligation to Aerosmith's
former label, Geffen Records. Aerosmith switched to Sony for the last
studio album, "Nine Lives," but as part of the negotation to leave
Geffen, the band promised Geffen a live set that would include the first
two singles from the Sony deal.
"I think they're going to be a little sorry they let us go," Kramer says
of Geffen.
The band could have put out a lackluster disc, as many bands do when
they're leaving a label, but Aerosmith made a heightened return to rock
n' roll. That was supplied in part by the reappearance of the band's
former producer, Jack Douglas, who mixed the new record. "We had a lot
of fun with Jack back in the old days," says Kramer. "And it was a good
idea to have him mix the live stuff, because if there's anybody who
knows how the band is supposed to sound, it's Jack."
Indeed, Aerosmith seems to be firing on all cylinders these days. Tyler
is back in the saddle after injuring his knee this summer with a
twirling microphone. And Kramer is back after suffering second-degree
burns when his Ferrari caught fire at a Scituate gas station. Kramer
contends the automatic shut-off valve at the pump failed to work, though
he does acknowledge that he failed to turn off the engine before it shot
up in flames and destroyed the car.
"It was a hard way to get the summer off, but it kind of refreshed
everybody," says Kramer.
As for the recent hit single, which went from idea to conception in just
10 days, Aerosmith doesn't mind taking heat for it from core fans.
"Well, I guess enough people like it if it became a No. 1 song," say
Kramer. "And because if the hit single, our shows have been pretty much
sold out."
As for Kramer's burns: "They've healed up very well and I've got no
scars," he says. As for future plans, he adds that Aerosmith will start
writing another record in the spring, then maybe release it next fall.
"But we're going to pretty much stay on the road for a while now," he
notes. "We're going to stay out there and pound the boards a bit."

That's 250 each day and that makes the average about 90000 a year. So that's pretty much more than last year when the average for each day was only (and that's not so "only" either) about 70 vistors.
Sorry to bore you with this shit but no one's forcing you to read it ,right?
I'm doing this is mainly for my self so that i sometime in the future can see how many visitors i've had in the past....
Anyway, now back to Aerosmith!

certainly wouldn't mind. Before any of you take this serious, it was all in

Travis Lawrence Reports:
I just heard the LIVE version of The Other Side from A Little South of Sanity on WIYY, a Baltimore radio station (listen to it online at 98Online.com or through Broadcast.com). I wondered if they just decided to play it off of the album or that it could be the single instead of Dude? The DJ specifically said it was from ALSOS.
