- Tyler mention on Celebrity Mole
There was an Aero mention on the ABC reality show, Celebrity Mole. (1/28/04)
One of the contestants, Angie Everheart(actress/model?) was to paint a picture based on another team members description of the original. One painting turned out to truly resemple a Renoiresque version of Steven Tyler. When she was done and took the painting into the gallery she said, "Steven Tyler, look out!"...
The picture was also compared to Mick Jagger on drugs, by Mark Curry. Then the announcer said they should send it directly to Tyler. Angie said she wasn't sure what to paint so she decided to paint Tyler and thought it would be good for the cover of the next Aero cd! The picture looked nothing like the original!.... it was supposed to be a black girl!

- Aero to Bowl over fans (DMAAT)
MORE INSIDE TRACK
By Gayle Fee and Laura Raposa
Wednesday, January 28, 2004
Aero to Bowl over fans
Aerosmith touched down in Houston yesterday to begin preparing for the Super
Bowl pregame show, and lead guitarist Joe Perry said the band is ready to rock
'n' roll.
"It's going to be a great game and a great show,'' Perry told the Track.
More so, since it almost didn't happen. A last-minute contractual glitch made
the National Football League throw the flag on the Bad Boys From Boston's
pre-game appearance and the gig was actually cancelled last Friday. Only a
last-minute Hail Mary by New England Patriots poohbah Jonathan Kraft saved the show.
Perry said he wanted to make sure fans understood that the band's issue with
the NFL was over rehearsal time - not any diva-esque demands. Aerosmith wanted
three hours to rehearse inside Reliant Stadium, the NFL only offered 90
minutes.
"This wasn't because we didn't like the color of the pom-poms or about the
number of red M&Ms in the dressing room,'' Perry said. ``We just wanted to be
able to put on the best show possible.''
In the end, Perry said, the band made some changes to its on-stage game plan
to accommodate the shorter rehearsal schedule.
Aerosmith is blasting off for NASA headquarters today to begin filming a
video presentation that will kick off the ``Welcome To Houston - Spirit of Texas''
pregame show.
The film is a tribute to the space program and when it concludes, Aerosmith
will take the stage and play one song - the blues classic ``Baby Please Don't
Go'' - off the upcoming "Honkin' On Bobo'' album. They'll be joined in the
pre-game festivities by country superstar Toby Keith, Willie Nelson, Walter Suhr
and Mango Punch! Beyonce Knowles will sing the National Anthem.
So, Joe, are you ready for some football?

- New Herald Article - Back In The Superbowl Saddle (DMAAT)
Aerosmith is Back in the Saddle Again
By Gayle Fee and Laura Raposa
Sunday, January 25, 2004
After 24 hours of intense - and sometimes tense - negotiations, Aerosmith is
Back in the Saddle Again for Super Bowl XXXVIII.
"We worked it out,'' said National Football League spokesguy Brian McCarthy.
"`We're looking forward to a great show.''
On Friday afternoon the NFL pulled the plug on the Bad Boys From Boston's
Super Bowl pregame show, saying the band's demands for rehearsal time at Reliant
Stadium were out of bounds. Sources say the league was within minutes of
signing pop star Sheryl Crow as a replacement for the band when the New England
Patriots got involved.
According to our backstage spies, Aerosmith axman Joe Perry rang up Pats
pooh-bah Jonathan Kraft and asked him to intervene on the band's behalf with the
NFL. It seems Aerosmith's management had made a series of demands that the
league felt it could not accommodate. One was for three hours of rehearsal time
inside the stadium, while the NFL offered only 90 minutes. And there were other
sticking points.
On Friday, the league issued an ultimatum to the band's management: Sign the
deal or Walk This Way to the exit! The deal was not signed, and so the league
announced the band was out and a replacement was being sought.
The management thought the league was posturing and the next thing Aerosmith
knew, the band was out, said our source.
Now, according to our spies, Steven Tyler & Co. had no idea any of this was
going on and were quite dismayed to find themselves off the Super Bowl roster!
So Perry called Kraft, who interceded with NFL special events sultan Jim
Steeg. After a lot of back and forth - and a conference call starring Perry, his
manager, Kraft and Steeg - a deal was hammered out.
Perry told Steeg the band was willing to do whatever it took to make it
happen, said our backstage spy. He told him he loved football and really wanted to
do it.
So the show will go on. The band is scheduled to head to Houston on Tuesday
to begin filming a tribute to NASA at the space agency's headquarters that
would air on the Jumbotrons to kick off the ``Welcome to Houston - Spirit of
Texas'' pregame show. After the video, the band will make a spectacular surprise
entrance into Reliant Stadium and take the stage.
Aerosmith is scheduled to perform one song and plans to go with its cover of
the blues classic ``Baby, Please Don't Go'' off its upcoming ``Honkin' on
Bobo'' album. The show will be televised live on CBS.

- Pregame Party? (DMAAT)
From the CMC site re: that special - no mention of Aero though...at least not
in the descriptions I read including this one:
The night before the AFC and NFC champions battle it out on the field for the
coveted Super Bowl XXXVIII championship, CMT is throwing its own brand of
tailgate party to celebrate. Toby Keith’s Shock'n Y'all Super Bowl Party: A CMT
Crossroads Special will kick off the country’s biggest sporting event and will
be telecast live from Houston, the home of Super Bowl XXXVIII. The one-hour
concert will feature special musical performances by Keith, supported by his
band and a gathering of very special friends. Scheduled to join Keith are Texas
legend and collaborator Willie Nelson; Sammy Hagar; Darryl McDaniels (DMC);
Chad Smith (Red Hot Chili Peppers); and jazz musician Wayman Tisdale.
"The Super Bowl always marks a time when friends can get together, enjoy the
best game of football, talk about which television commercial they think is
the funniest and be entertained by some of the best artists music has to offer,"
says Keith. "It's an honor to be asked to be a part of the event this year
and I can't wait to get on stage with my friends from country, rock and pop
music for all our fans."

Regarding the press article that came out about Marti working on the Aerosmith album now, according to my sources, I'm pretty sure, to be honest, Jack does not have any idea what, if any, of his original tracks with the band will be included on the CD. He is no longer involved in the project. He is working with Cheap Trick now and has a few other projects in the hopper as well. He did say when the time is appropriate (after the CD comes out) he will be more than willing to share his thoughts with Aerosmith fans.

- Herald Says Aero fired by NFL for Pre-Game show... (DMAAT)
I didn't want to say anything but yesterday on the NFL and official Superbowl
sites, ALL references to Aerosmith minus one they forgot had been removed and
all mentions of them doing the pre-show as well. Then today, THIS article
comes out...sure looks great for the band - NOT! Wonder what the actual outcome
will be!
NFL tells Aerosmth: Take a hike
By Inside Track
Saturday, January 24, 2004
The National Football League threw a flag on Aerosmith's Super Bowl
appearance yesterday, saying the hometown heroes' demands for rehearsal time at Reliant
Stadium were out-of-bounds.
"They made demands that we couldn't meet,'' NFL spokesman Brian McCarthy
said. ``At 11 p.m. (Thursday) night, they issued an ultimatum and we decided the
next morning to pull the plug.''
But a source close to the band told the Track last night that the two sides
were still negotiating and Aerosmith was confident a compromise could be
reached.
"We're going to the Super Bowl,'' the source said.
The two sides continued to huddle late into the night and it appeared as
though the band's Super Bowl appearance could be back in the playbook after a
last-minute Hail Mary by the New England Patriots front office.
The band was slated to head to Houston Tuesday to begin filming a tribute to
NASA at the space agency's headquarters that would air on the Jumbotrons to
kick off the ``Welcome to Houston - Spirit of Texas'' pregame show. After the
video, the plan was to have the band make a spectacular surprise entrance and
take the stage.
Steven Tyler, Joe Perry & Co. were scheduled to perform one song and had
planned to go with their cover of the blues classic "Baby, Please Don't Go'' off
their upcoming "Honkin' On Bobo'' album. The show will be televised live on
CBS.
McCarthy said the NFL wanted Aerosmith for the Super Bowl as soon as they saw
them perform at the ``NFL Kickoff Live'' in Washington, D.C., at the start of
the season.
"They were one of the first groups we looked to lock in for the Super Bowl,''
he said. "We had a great experience with the band members, but unfortunately
they demanded too many things too late.''
McCarthy said the biggest sticking point was over rehearsal time. Tyler & Co.
wanted three hours inside Reliant Stadium to rehearse, but the NFL was
offering only 90 minutes.
"They wanted more time to practice at the stadium than the Patriots and the
Panthers,'' he said. "The two teams get only 45 minutes inside the stadium
before the game. Aerosmith was only scheduled to perform for four minutes, but
they needed three hours to rehearse.''
McCarthy had said earlier in the day that the NFL was looking for another act
to replace the band in the pregame show and that the act would be singer
Sheryl Crow. But later, McCarthy said no one was locked in.
The band had been looking forward to the Super Bowl appearance and to
cheering on the New England Patriots. But members were especially stoked about the
opportunity to work with NASA.
"We grew up in that generation watching these guys and they were heroes,''
Perry told the Track. The space program takes people to higher places, no pun
intended. It's the high point of what humans can achieve.''
McCarthy said he realizes New England fans will be disappointed if the
Patriots' house band does not play at the big game.
"But the bottom line is that they won't be unhappy once the game starts,'' he
said. "There will be a kickoff and Tom Brady will throw a pass, and that's
what the Super Bowl is really all about.''

---------
So far only the Herald has this story...and the NFL just made 'em
disappear LOL. So I'm pretty sure negotiations are still going on as
they will have to do an official press release I would think if/when
they are actually removed from the bill. I wonder if the Herald ran
the story to try and get Aero public support to the NFL folks to let
them have their way. Cause the Herald is usually the "good" paper to
Aero while the Globe (which has nothing that I can find) is the "bad"
one to them LOL.
- Toby Keith and Willie Nelson, but no Aerosmith (DMAAT)
I went to superbowl.com and there's a link on the side that says "Aerosmith to headline pregame show" I clicked on it and it wouldn't load, just stayed blank. I did find this though.
Country stars Toby Keith and Willie Nelson join pregame show
NEW YORK (Jan. 16, 2004) -- Country music superstars Toby Keith and Willie Nelson will join the Super Bowl XXXVIII pre-game show entitled "Welcome to Houston -- The Spirit of Texas" on Sunday, Feb. 1, at Reliant Stadium in Houston, Texas.
Houston will be home to the Super Bowl for the second time in history, the first coming 30 years ago. The pregame show will spotlight the musical talents, as well as the spirit, hospitality and unity of the great city of Houston and the state of Texas.
Super Bowl XXXVIII will be televised by CBS to an expected 130 million viewers in the United States, and a potential worldwide audience of one billion viewers. The Super Bowl is annually the nation's highest-rated TV program and the most-watched single-day sporting event.
Sunday, Feb. 1, 2004, marks the first anniversary of the loss of Columbia and her crew. The NFL will salute NASA and honor the seven Columbia crew members who gave their lives in America's efforts to explore space. Crew members from the next Space Shuttle mission, STS-114, will join international star Josh Groban on the field as part of the NFL's salute to NASA as Groban sings his hit, "You Raise Me Up" joined by a local choir of 80 Houston high school singers prior to the national anthem.
The pregame show lineup features the talents of Keith and Nelson, along with Latin sensations Walter Suhr and Mango Punch! In addition to Groban, multi-dimensional superstar Beyoncé Knowles, who hails from Houston, will perform the National Anthem. A Black Hawk helicopter fly-over by the 1st of the 149th Army Aviation Battalion stationed in Houston will follow the anthem. More than 1,500 local performers also will be a part of the show executive produced by Bob Best and produced by Michael T. Fiur. A Texas Joint Services Honor Guard from Camp Mabry in Austin will be part of the ceremonies.
Keith dominated the country music scene in 2003 with two albums earning multi-platinum certification and a ranking as one of the top-earning entertainers of the year. His current release, "Shock'n Y'all" was certified triple platinum and his previous album, "Unleashed" was quadruple platinum. The Los Angeles Times' list of top-earning entertainers ranked Keith as the top ranked country superstar at No. 4 with a combined album sales and concerts grossing $106.6 million for the year. Pollstar Magazine had Keith the second-top ticket seller, second only to Bruce Springsteen.
The American music icon Nelson, who has recorded more than 100 albums in his career, just keeps on rolling. A winner of eight Grammy's, Texas native Nelson was nominated for four more awards for this year's Grammy's. The 70-year-old Hall of Famer just kicked off an extensive U.S. concert tour of the east coast and southern states, which also includes a stop in Houston for the Super Bowl. His album along with Ray Price, "Run That By Me One More Time," was nominated as Best Country Album and three other nominations came from "Willie Live & Kickin'," an album that was recorded during his ratings-smashing USA Network Memorial Day cable television special, featuring performances from music's biggest superstars.
Both artists are nominated for a Grammy in the Best Country Collaboration with Vocals category for their chart-topping single "Beer For My Horses." Keith is also credited for being a songwriter of the track with a nomination in the Best Country Song category.
- Per Joe, Super Bowl is on (DMAAT)
As posted on AF1 message board - on but now scaled back!
WBZ TV Boston News said that Joe Perry called in to say they are still on for
the superbowl, but that it was going to be a scaled back performance. They
explained the story as it was in the Herald about the rehearsal times conflict,
but said they worked out something.

Here's a cool interview link posted by Aerometis on another message board.
The good news is that the entire band is in the studio there w/Marti. Well
except JOE whose BABY this thing is supposed to be. Perhaps he's too busy
driving his bus all around or hanging with rock stars such as Jimmy Page. This was
done before the news broke this morning about the Superbowl problem so it
makes sense they HAD to call this TV station and report the "good news" that it
was indeed "on" just scaled back. Here is the link. Enjoy.

- Dudes Got A Gun (aerofanatic)
Is the demotion of a deputy inspector the latest cold-war act of hostility between Police Commissioner Ray Kelly and his predecessor Bernard Kerik and by extension, former Mayor Rudolph Giuliani?
Kelly took the unusual step last month of overruling a departmental trial judge to demote Benjamin Petrofsky to captain for improperly giving pistol licenses to members of the rock group Aerosmith.
Petrofsky's attorney, Joseph Tacopina, attributed the demotion to Kelly's dislike of Kerik, who named Petrofsky to head the pistol-licensing division.
"This is all about Kerik," Tacopina said.
Kerik, a friend of Tacopina, did not disagree.
"If that's true, it's unfortunate," he said, adding that he had appointed Petrofsky on the recommendation of George Grasso, now Kelly's first deputy commissioner.
A police spokesman said Kelly had no comment.
While neither Kelly nor Kerik has ever publicly discussed each other's failings, they are as different as chalk and cheese. Kelly put himself through law school while a cop and served as first deputy before becoming commissioner in 1992.
Giuliani dismissed him when he became mayor in 1994, then took credit for some of his successes, like ending the city's squeegeemen plague.
Kelly then led a United Nations military mission to Haiti and became undersecretary of the treasury and head of the Customs Bureau under President Bill Clinton. He is the only man to ever serve as NYPD commissioner twice.
But he has never forgiven Giuliani for dismissing him and diminishing his accomplishments.
Kerik was a third-grade detective lacking a college degree when he was named commissioner in 2000.
As commissioner he began a program to steer school safety officers, many of them black and Hispanic, into the department. He also dismissed Deputy Commissioner Joe Wuensch.
As commissioner the second time, Kelly dismantled the school safety officers' program. He also hired Wuensch as his chief of staff.
As for Petrofsky, his impropriety consisted of driving to an Aerosmith concert in New Jersey and fingerprinting lead singer Steven Tyler and lead guitarist Joe Perry backstage.
On Oct. 6, Assistant Trial Commissioner Michael Sarner found Petrofsky, who has a clean record, guilty of failing to conduct a background investigation of the two; conducting department business outside the city, and using his own car for department business without authorization. Noting that Petrofsky's conduct did not appear motivated by personal greed or "a willingness to blatantly disregard department rules," Sarner ruled that the 18-year veteran should forfeit 30 vacation days.
Sarner also cited testimony that police officials regularly make special arrangements for celebrities, including Robert DeNiro, Howard Stern, Harvey Keitel and Bruce Willis, in obtaining pistol permits, often processing them outside One Police Plaza.
Trial testimony also cited a 1997 incident under Kerik's predecessor, Howard Safir, in which the department issued permits for hundreds of Israeli diplomats, whose names were faxed by the consulate and who did not go through the normal application process. One of the Israelis was later arrested for carrying a gun into the White House and it was discovered he was not a diplomat.
On Dec. 31, Kelly wrote that while he approved of Sarner's findings on Petrofsky, he disapproved of Sarner's recommended penalty. In addition to demoting him to captain, Kelly placed Petrofsky on dismissal probation for a year, during which time he can be terminated without a hearing.

- Urgent Message To Steven Tyler Fans Across The Globe!
I've been working with the writer/director/producer of the film Goodnight Joseph Parker starring Steven Tyler; Dennis Brooks of Kubla Khan Pictures, Inc. He needs email support from Steven Tyler fans to help get his film released. At the same time, you would be entered to win collectibles from the film! Please read the message below and forward this to anyone who might assist.
Thank you!
--
Our long awaited premier of the film "Goodnight Joseph Parker" (once called "Last Call") starring Steven Tyler, Paul Sorvino (Goodfellas), Debi Mazar (Jungle Fever), and Kim Dickens (Things Behind the Sun) is on hold until the producers can demonstrate significant interest from Tyler fans. So if you’re as excited to see Tyler putting it on film as I am (I hear he’s hysterical), visit the film’s Website at www.GoodnightJosephParker.com.
After checking out the trailer and photos, etc, click on "DEMAND FILM" and read how you can help. Basically, you just need to send an email to the address given expressing your desire (need?) to finally see the film. Emails will be randomly selected for lots of one-of-a-kind giveaways such as on-set bloopers of Tyler to the T-shirt he wore throughout the film that reads "Ass, Grass, or Gas, Nobody Rides for Free." It’s still caked in makeup from the shoot. Apparently, there are LOADS of unusual Tyler collectibles from the film so your chances of getting something cool are pretty high…but you have to write the email.

Don't forget to check out the pics at the end…two with this article from AF1
and another related one I found. Also..note who Steven's hanging with….
1/20/04 - From Cali to Houston
WOW! What a week. Like I told you, photographer Ross Halfin set up a photo
shoot with Joe in Los Angeles. What I didn't tell you, is that it was with Jimmy
Page for the cover of Guitar World magazine hitting the newsstand in a few
months.
We flew in last Friday and headed right over to the studio where Ross had it
all set up. After about 20 minutes of HIHOWYADOIN'S the guys got down to
biz-ness. With the new Aerosmith CD blasting from the PA, the two Rock and Roll
Hall of Fame guitarists posed for the master lensman for over 3 hours. Then the
guys headed to a private office and took part in an interview with GW's editor,
Brad Tolinski.
After the interview Joe and Jimmy took part in another photo shoot with other
veteran rock guitar gods and a few up and comers. In the photo were: Zakk
Wylde (who is nuts)!
John Frusciante (from Red Hot Chili Peppers) Slash, Dean Deleo from STP,
Monkey from Korn, Tom Morello from Audio Rage and Daron Malakian from System of a
Down. The look on the guys faces were "We're not Worthy"!
After the shoot Jimmy, Joe and Slash made there way to the House of Blues to
check out The Godfather of Soul "James Brown." After a rockin' sex machine
fueled set the trio went backstage to give JB his props. Mr. Brown was very
gracious and happy to see the six string slingers. Jimmy mentioned how he saw James
at the Hamersmith Odeon in London circa 1970.
The next day Jimmy and Joe along with Ross and yours truly drove to one of
the largest record stores in the country call "Ameba". I was driving the 2 or if
you ask Ross, 3 legends to the store. Believe me my hands were at 10 and 2
all the f'n way down Santa Monica Blvd. There was no way I was going to turn
into Steve Bartman or the pilot of Buddy Holly's plane. After arriving somewhat
sweaty at the store we all spent the next hour checking out the Blues section.
Several CD's later we headed back to the hotel and after listening to Ross
Halfin's stories, which are often a jumble of anecdotes, non sequiturs, and
personal observations, that are fascinating but very hard to follow - we headed
back to the hotel and parted ways. We jumped on a red eyed flight home and Joe
spent Sunday afternoon in front of the tube watching the Patriots kick ass!
While one half of the Toxic Twins was watching in the privacy of his own
home, Steven braved the weather with Aero-Producer Marti Frederiksen and took in
the game live in Pat's owner Robert Kraft's luxury suite. Pass the Lobster
Rolls Please! The week before Joe took his boys to the Playoff game in The Pats
box so the Bad Boys are 2-0 in the Playoffs. On February 1st the guys will be
looking to go 3-0 and take the hardware back to Beantown. Look for Aerosmith
right before the game starts in Houston. They have a few tricks up their sleeves
and should be topping their half-time show from a few years back. This time no
Nelly, *NSYNC, Mary J. or Britney. The 5 guys will be rockin' on a stage all
their own.
See You in Houston!

Aerosmith Cancel Darkness Brit Awards Duet
January 20, 2004
American rockers Aerosmith have pulled out of a planned duet with rising
stars The Darkness at this year's Brit Awards - after fearing they would be
upstaged.
According to sources, the organizers of February's ceremony were gleeful when
they persuaded Steven Tyler and Joe Perry to team up with the Justin
Hawkins-fronted band for a cover of their hit Love in An Elevator.
But after some careful consideration, the Walk This Way veterans called time
on the deal.
A source tells British tabloid The Daily Star, "It was all set in stone and
was going to be the collaboration of the night.
"But on Friday, Aerosmith pulled out with a load of flimsy excuses. The
impression they gave was of a band who didn't want to be upstaged."
The I Believe in a Thing Called Love newcomers are leading the nominees at
the awards - where they are up for four gongs.

- Superbowl Briefs (aerofanatic)
Looks like the Aerosmith performace now has a definite time....so we don't miss it....
The roof at Reliant Stadium will be open for the Super Bowl unless it rains or is very cold, National Football League executives said.
Jim Steeg, the NFL executive in charge of the game, said some media have erroneously reported that the roof would be closed even if the weather is good.
The NFL will close the roof only if it rains, even if temperatures drop to 45 degrees or so, said Don Renzulli, NFL senior director of event operations.
******The roof will close about 4:25 p.m. during the pregame performance of AEROSMITH at the group's request, and then be reopened for the duration of the game, including halftime, he said*******
At Texans' home games, the Texans must decide before a game whether the roof will be open or closed. The team cannot open or close it during the game because opposing teams might be concerned that the team was doing so to gain a competitive advantage, Steeg said.
But the NFL will not be bound by such a policy. It could decide to close the roof during the game if it begins to rain, Steeg said.

...and confirms that he's finishing up the album with Just Push Play producer Marti Fredrickson.... :(
Tyler: Our tribute to NASA will be a blast
By Gayle Fee and Laura Raposa
Friday, January 23, 2004
For Aerosmith, playing at Super Bowl XXXVIII is a real Sweet Emotion now that
the hometown team will be on the field!
"Fuhgeddaboudit. It's just too good," head Bad Boy From Boston Steven Tyler
told the Track. "It's these hot, heaping helpings of pride. You can eat it with
a spoon, it's so wonderful."'
Tyler was in Gillette Stadium last Sunday when the New England Patriots put
the Indianapolis Colts out to pasture, securing their spot in the Super Bowl.
Tyler took in the action from the owners' box with Robert, Myra and Jonathan
Kraft and the rest of the family. At one point, when the stadium sound system pl
ayed ``Walk This Way,'' Tyler was hanging out the window singing for the
crowd.
"I got to feel what it's like to be an emperor. I felt like Joaquin (Phoenix)
in `Gladiator,' '' he said. "I leaned over and the place erupted. It was
definitely a moment.''
Tyler said he and his bandmates are scheduled to land in Houston Tuesday to
begin filming the intro for their "`Welcome to Houston - The Spirit of Texas''
pregame show. Aerosmith's portion will be a tribute to NASA, which will run on
the Jumbotrons before they hit the stage.
Now don't say where you heard it, but the band has decided what they'll do
for their one-song set - a cover of the blues standard "Baby Please Don't Go"'
off their upcoming "`Honkin' On Bobo"' album.
"It'll be a lot of fun for us - not quite what a lot of people expect,"'
Tyler said. ``But when they see the whole show, the whole presentation, it will
make sense.''
Now we could tell you how this is all going to go down. But then we'd have to
kill you. Suffice it to say, Aerosmith's entrance will be out of this world!
Lead guitarist Joe Perry, who shivered through the Popsicle Bowl when the
Pats beat the Tennessee Titans, said the band is high on NASA and working with
the space agency to put together the pre-game show.
"We grew up in that generation watching these guys and they were heroes,"' he
said. "`It's lost some of its glamour over the past few years but it's nice
to see President Bush advocating for it again. The space program takes people
to higher places, no pun intended, it's the high point of what humans can
achieve."'
Tyler and Perry are finishing up their album with ``Just Push Play'' producer
Marty Frederickson in their South Shore studio. It's a collection of eight or
nine covers of old blues tunes and a couple of originals.
"It's old Aerosmith,"' Tyler said. "It's got the old `what is-ness.' "'
"Honkin's'' due to be released in March, when the band heads out on its next
U.S. tour.

- Aero wants to blow the roof...down LOL (DMAAT)
ESPN.com ran an article about the super bowl being in a domed stadium with a roof that opens and closes, and that officials wanted to have the roof open for the Super Bowl this year. The article briefly mentioned that the dome will be closed for Aerosmith's pregame performance--at the band's request--and then open for the rest of the game. Pretty interesting that Aerosmith has the power and influence to get them to close the dome for them!

McNabb out of Pro Bowl; Raiders considering Turner
January 23, 2004
…..Excerpt:
SUPER ROOF COULD BE OPEN: The Reliant Stadium roof might be open for the
Super Bowl.
Initial plans for the Feb. 1 game were for the NFL's first retractable roof
stadium to be closed. But a league official says plans quietly changed as the
NFL decided to take advantage of its most unique venue.
''It's a tremendous, tremendous building, and I think it's something we all
want to show off,'' said NFL senior vice president Jim Steeg, the man in charge
of Super Bowl planning.
Steeg said the roof will be closed for a pregame performance by Aerosmith, at
the band's request, then will remain open for the rest of the evening as long
as it's not rainy or too cold.
The long-range forecast, subject to change, calls for Super Bowl Sunday to be
sunny with a gametime temperature in the mid- to upper 50s.

- Joe Perry interview on Superbowl (DMAAT)
(Jan. 22, 2004) -- Aerosmith guitarist Joe Perry and the rest of the band are gearing up for their pregame performance at Super Bowl XXXVIII in Houston. Aerosmith got the 2003 season started at the NFL Kickoff Live event in Washington, D.C., and now it's also appropriate that the Boston natives will be on hand to see the New England Patriots face the Carolina Panthers for the NFL crown.
SuperBowl.com caught up with Aerosmith's Joe Perry before the big game. Here's what he had to say:
What is your favorite NFL team?
New England Patriots. They are our hometown team and it's important to stay with your hometown team through thick and thin.
Who is your favorite NFL player?
Adam Vinatieri, because he kicks ass!
If you were in the NFL, what position would you play?
Owner . or relative of the owner.
What do you enjoy most about football?
It's fast and the tailgate parties are a blast!
How often do you watch football (in person and on TV)? What do you like best about watching the game?
Whenever the Patriots play or when the game directly affects their standing. The best part about watching a game is when a play goes down and you know everyone gave 110 percent.
What was the best football game you ever saw?
Two years ago, when the Patriots won Super Bowl XXXVI as time expired.
What is your earliest football memory (as a player or spectator)?
Watching Joe Namath cream the Colts in Super Bowl III, barely able to walk off the field, then spend the night with five Playboy bunnies.

Are you ready for some football? If your name is P. Diddy, Nelly or Kid
Rock, the answer is "yes." While fans have to wait until Sunday to find out
who'll play in this year's Super Bowl, they don't have to wait any longer to
find out who'll play at halftime.
The three will meet at the 50-yard line for the AOL Top Speed Super Bowl
XXXVIII halftime performance, joining the previously announced Janet Jackson
on February 1 at Reliant Stadium in Houston. Aerosmith will headline the
pre-game festivities, which will also include classical singer Josh Groban
honoring the crew of the Space Shuttle Columbia with his song "You Raise Me
Up." Beyoncé, a Houston native, will kick off the event by singing the
national anthem.
The game will air on CBS, and MTV will produce the halftime show. In 2001
MTV produced the halftime show for Super Bowl XXXV, where the Baltimore
Ravens beat the New York Giants at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida.
This will be both Nelly and Aerosmith's second time performing at the event.
Both took part in the 2001 halftime show, which also featured performances
by 'NSYNC along with special guests Britney Spears and Mary J. Blige

He's a genius in his own mind, and I actually believe him. The same thing happens to my band all the time; people steal our ideas and make them popular before we do. Like Aerosmith stole the Varga girl off the cover of our first album and used her on their concert posters and Guns N Roses stole the Pretty Suicide logo with the star and Japanese characters for Chinese Democracy.

Regarding the date for Copps Coliseum, located in Hamilton.. (www.hecfi.on.ca)...
This has caused some confusion, ticketmaster.ca had occurence of Aerosmith on the website, and taking a look at
the listings for Copps Coliseum, there is an event listed for 04/24/04 at Copps Coliseum but it isn't Aersomith. It is for HSBC STARS ON ICE PRESENTED BY DANONE
Now found out something today, that the show is April 22 NOT the 24th...
The Hamilton date IS confirmed. The events manager said with all the events he got told the other day he got it mixed up... he just got back from an events meeting, and he was given so many dates of up coming shows, that he got the 2 mixed up.
So it IS April 22, 2004. Tickets go on sale Jan 24th.

Me and my boys listen to a lot of kid movie soundtracks. Aerosmiths version of Spiderman is awesome, Bryan Adams soundtrack on Spirit is cool, also Phil Collins kicks ass on Tarzan. There's so many more. Have you heard the girls on Hercules? They are killer.

I was watching MTV yesterday and saw one of their 567 non-music shows called "Movie House." Jennifer Aniston was on promoting her new movie with Ben Stiller called "Along Came Polly." She took some question from fans and one was "What Rock band would you like to tour with?" She said Aerosmith because she's a die hard fan.
Of course this gave MTV a chance, like always, to show clips of Steven in the "Dude (Looks Like A Lady)" video. No wonder they don't play that song live that much any longer. The boys must be sick to death of hearing it and seeing it on TV.

- Terry Hamilton Does Vagina Monologues for Second Step (DMAAT)
Public monologue
Prominent area women stage 'Vagina' production
By Donovan Slack, Globe Correspondent, 1/12/2004
It wasn't the typical political speech, pleading for legislative funding or
stumping for votes in an upcoming election. Suffolk County Sheriff Andrea J.
Cabral was clearly nervous, shifting her 6-foot frame from side to side as she
blurted out the words yesterday in a small Cambridge studio.
"I looked up and he slapped me, my husband," she deadpanned. "Not a blast
that knocks your eyes blue. That came later. It was a smack, a hard, domestic
smack."
Cabral is not abused. In fact, she's not even married. But she is playing the
role of an abused wife in an upcoming production of "The Vagina Monologues"
featuring many prominent Boston-area women. Hoping to raise at least $150,000
for The Second Step, a local nonprofit agency that provides transitional
assistance to survivors of domestic violence, Cabral is joined in the play by Terry
Hamilton, wife of Aerosmith bassist Tom Hamilton; and Patti Kraft, wife of New
England Patriots Vice Chairman Jonathan Kraft. The performance, scheduled for
Feb. 5 at the John Hancock Hall, will be the first in Boston under playwright
Eve Ensler's V-Day campaign, which urges communities around the world to
perform her play on or near Valentine's Day to raise money and shed light on
violence against women. Organizers said Boston is the only major US city that has
yet to participate in the campaign.
But it was not an easy task, signing up the 25 or so castmembers in Boston,
all women with high-profile public images. The edgy monologues, written by
Ensler and designed to empower women, are said to contain the word "vagina" more
than 100 times. There is a scene with a 72-year-old virgin, who talks about why
she never had sex. There are rape victims, recounting sordid tales in
chilling detail.
"There were some people who thought this was a little too edgy," said Ruth
Dzau, president of the board for The Second Step.
But Cabral, who is running for election to a second term this fall, said she
signed up immediately and "never gave it a second thought." The former
prosecutor once specialized in domestic abuse cases. And she has never been shy about
making potentially unpopular decisions. Six months after being appointed
sheriff, Cabral felt she wasn't getting enough support from the Republican party.
So she switched parties and became a Democrat.
"I don't like the paralysis that sets in when people are afraid they might
offend someone," she said in before yesterday's rehearsal. "I consider this art.
You can spend your whole life trying to avoid things you think might be
offensive, but that's a fool's errand."
Marjorie O'Neill Clapprood, a former state representative, radio talk-show
host, and one-time candidate for lieutenant governor, is scheduled to star in per
haps the most famous scene, in which the character repeatedly screams a
four-letter vulgarity in the hope of "reclaiming" the word. State Representative
Marie St. Fleur will play an abused woman, and Susan Wornick, anchor and
consumer reporter for WCVB Channel 5, will recite Massachusetts "vagina facts."
The facts, interspersed with the scenes of monologues, include tidbits such
as: Homicide is the No. 1 killer of new mothers in the state. Between the time
they become pregnant and when their babies turn 1, mothers are more likely to
be murdered than die from any other cause.
"This is such a statement," Wornick said of the Boston "Monologues"
production, for which tickets will range from $150 to $350. "It's an important
statement that does so many things at one time, the most important of which is
educate."
As cast members gathered to rehearse yesterday in a dance studio in
Cambridge, some munching on cookies and brownies, a nervous energy filled the room.
Here were some of the most powerful women in the state -- investment bankers,
lawyers, a Harvard professor -- all talking about a normally taboo topic as if
they were reciting their grocery lists.
As Kraft, Hamilton, and author Barbara Helfgott Hyett rehearsed the opening
scene yesterday, the three began recounting slang words for vagina, and
ultimately sent fellow cast members into a fit of nervous laughter.
For Hamilton, who usually likes to leave the performing to her husband, the
hardest part was not saying the words, but standing up in front of people in
the first place. "Once I get up there, I'll say anything," she said in an
interview later. "It's getting up there that's the hard part."
For Kraft, a retired lawyer and stay-at-home mother of three who has refused
to utter the "S-word" (Super Bowl) since the Patriots made the playoffs, the
monologues have challenged her normally shy tendencies.
"It's scary," Kraft said. "I'm just so amazed at the bravery of these women
because these parts are so tough, to get up in front of your peers and say
these things."

Aero-kid Perry ready to rock biz side of music
By Gayle Fee and Laura Raposa
Tuesday, January 13, 2004
Hunky rock 'n' roll progeny Tony Perry wails on guitar, plays bass and can
handle the violin ``a little'' when he sits in with a local garage band. Which
ain't such a bad beginning for Aerosmith axman Joe Perry's kid!
But the home-schooled hottie, 17, is taking a pass on being a rock star. He's
got his sights set on music school, maybe owning a record company and
producing bands.
Tony does gets a shot at another one of his interests - modeling - in next
month's music-centric issue of Teen Vogue with a host of rocker offspring like
Rolling Stone Ron Wood's kid, Jesse, Lenny Kravitz's cousin Ruckus and Austin
Cregg, whose dad is Huey Lewis. The issue hits the streets today.
Now when queried about the Teen Vogue coming out party, young Perry - who
gets his blonde and blue-eyed looks from his mom, Billie - is rather nonchalant.
But Dad couldn't wait to tell us modeling mavens at Wilhelmina already have
their sights set on his son. Which will make it so easy for Joe to keep in
touch with Mama Kin!
And speaking of Perry, Joe told the Track Aerosmith hasn't decided what
they're going to play during the pregame tribute to NASA show at Super Bowl
XXXVIII.
"We've been rehearsing a bunch of stuff,'' he said. ``But we're only going to
play one song. We'll probably take a vote and we might even do something off
the new album.''
That would be the band's new blues collection which, at the moment, is called
``Honkin' On Bobo.'' Perry, who tailgated with his kids before the
Patriots-Titans game the other night in his deluxe, whale-sized rock 'n' roll tour bus,
was Cryin' because he won't be at Sunday's AFC Championship game at Gillette
Stadium. He's got to fly to L.A. to pose for the cover of Guitar World with Led
Zeppelin legend Jimmy Page.
But Perry said he'll be back in time to bring the bus to Houston for the Big
Game.
The Silver Line-sized beast is tricked out with a leopard-print interior,
giant retractable plasma-screen TV, cappuccino maker, sleeping quarters for six
and gets a whopping eight miles to the gallon.
Oh Yeah!

excuse to give both actors a chance to run wild on screen, which they do
really well. Anyway, Sadaam mentioned that he didn't like Osama's video

Sadaam says "Ahh - So you like Dudes that look like ladys, huh?" And it went

Aerosmith axman Joe Perry - one of the Super Bowl pregame entertainers -

The last time Aerosmith contacted MIT was in 1992, to offer financial rescue

funding from the National Endowment for the Arts.
Boston’s bad boys of rock are back—inviting MIT students to enter a contest
to design their next album cover. Along with prestige, glory and an album
credit, the winning entry will receive $3,500 for the student and $3,500 for the
Institute.
The recording, titled “Honkin’ on Bobo,” is described as “down, dirty and
heavily blues influenced.”
Only a select number of Boston-area schools have been invited to participate.
Entries must be submitted to the Office of the Arts (Room E15-205) by Monday,
Jan. 5 at 2 p.m. The Office of the Arts will be closed along with the rest of

- Chapter 11 Definition (DMAAT)
Thought I'd post this here. Also posted on AF1 because I saw too many people
"guessing" as to what Chapter 11 is vs. other bankruptcies. This is just
meant as a general description and each case is individual. As I stated before,
it's often the case that creditors are paid less than 100% of the amount they
are owed.
Chapter 11, entitled Reorganization, ordinarily is used by commercial
enterprises that desire to continue operating a business and repay creditors
concurrently through a court-approved plan of reorganization. The chapter 11 debtor
has the exclusive right to file a plan of reorganization for the first 120 days
after the order of relief and must provide creditors with a disclosure
statement containing information adequate to enable creditors to evaluate the plan.
The court ultimately approves (confirms) or disapproves the plan of
reorganization. Under the confirmed plan, the debtor can reduce its debts by repaying
a portion of its obligations and discharging others. The debtor can also
terminate burdensome contracts and leases, recover assets, and re-scale its
operations in order to return to profitability. Under chapter 11, the debtor
normally goes through a period of consolidation and emerges with a reduced debt load
and a reorganized business.

Chapter 7 - Liquidation
Chapter 9 - Adjustment of Debts of a Municipality

SWEET DREAMS
How to play "Dream On," part one.
JOE PERRY Of all the songs in our catalog, "Dream On" probably has the most
stories history. It's one of the first songs Stevven [Tyler] brought to the
band, pounding it out at the piano in our communal living space at 1325
Commonwealth Avenue in Boston. The truth is that Steven had already been fooling with
the song for a few years at that point.
Many of the guitar parts Brad and I play came from the figures and chord
voicings Steven originally played on the piano. FIGURE 1 iuulstrates the iintro to
"Dream On." I play the guitar part that's heard on the recording (Gtr. 1
part) and Brad play a part (Gtr. 2) that emulates Steven's piano part. (Steven
just sings the song when we perform it live.)

They Said It Couldn't Happen
On Tuesday, December 16th the guys had a photo shoot with legendary
photographer Ross Halfin in Los Angeles. Ross took shots for the new album that should
be released in the early part of 2004. The guys spent all of the day and most
of the night at a studio right off Melrose in Hollywood and at one point Ross
had them outside taking shot after shot right out on the street in front of
the studio. It was a really cool session and should be great to see in the near
future.
On the next day it seems like all the guys went out Christmas shopping. Joe
went to the Diesel store in the Beverly Center looking for clothes for his
sons. Steven was out and about in Beverly Hills. After a day of shopping Joe went
out to dinner with Ross at a sushi restaurant near our hotel. Looks like Ross
has something planned next week for Joe with one of his buddies. I will keep
you posted on that.
Thursday the guys blew the roof off of the old Forum. The band has played
here many times. A lot of guys from other bands were in attendance such as Billy
Duffy from the Cult, Bruce Kulick from KISS, some Skid Row guys and up and
coming rocker John Mayer. Joe again joined KISS for "Strutter." It's scary
because he looked way to comfortable in those 7 Inch leather heels.
After the show Steven, Tom and Joey headed over to Russ Irwin's house in the
hills for an after show bash. Tommy Thayer from KISS was there along with Paul
McCartney side man Brian Ray and jewelry designer Loree Rodkin .
After a well deserved day off on Friday the guys put a fork in the tour of
the Summer/Fall. I remember someone telling me last April that the word on the
street was that these two mega bands with mega egos won't make it past 3 shows
before sparks would fly and we ain't talking pyro here. Well, 60 some odd
shows later and it looked like they could go on for 60 more.
After the Fresno show both bands jumped on their jets and headed home. KISS
with Russ Irwin along for the ride took the 45 minute flight back to Los
Angeles while the rest of us flew 5 hours back east to cooler climates.
After Christmas some of the guys took a little time off. Steven and family
went to the Bahamas while Tom and Joey will head to Florida. Joe spent a very
cold windy afternoon rooting the New England Patriots on in their last regular
season home game against The Buffalo Bills on Dec. 27th. Joe hung out in the
Parking lot with all 4 of his sons and BBQ'd every kind of meat you could think
of before the game. Who said these guys were vegetarians?
Hopefully the Patriots will still be playing when the guys head off to
Houston later this month.
It looks like the band will take another week off and then put all their
energy into making 2004 a year you won't forget. Look for an appearance at The
2004 Super Bowl, a brand new record, a tour that will take them all across the
US/Canada and Japan and that's just the start.
See you all soon!

- "I met Jimmy Crespo"
Matt writes:
I met Jimmy Crespo on Saturday January 2nd in Las Vegas. He's in Jimmy Hopper's (the Vegas Lounge singer) band at the Fontana room at the Bellagio. Actually I saw him in the bathroom first and thought, "that looks an awful lot like Jimmy Crespo" And it was. They did covers of Creed, Alanis Morissette, Avril Levigne, etc. We got the host to ask him to come by our table after the show and he did. What a nice guy! I got an autograph and a picture. He said he was a little burned out on touring and is enjoying playing in the same place for a while. I asked when he would be breaking out the "Jailbait" or "Bolivian Ragamuffin", but he said since it's a lounge they don't really get a chance to rock. Just popular covers. He said they occasionally play Sweet E.

- Fansrule has added more... (DMAAT)
FR has added more about this to their website explanation including how they
are talking to their current roster to keep them all and going to get new
artists as well. Read on...(the first part is somewhat of a repeat of what I
posted earlier but I believe the artist part has since been added)
FansRULE has filed for Chapter 11 under the Federal Bankruptcy Court. This is
a procedure which allows a company to reorganize under the protection of the
Federal Bankruptcy Court system.
Since our filing, many of you have already enjoyed events held in New York,
Washington, Manchester and Boston, to name a few. Tickets for all events have
been shipped. Merchandise has also been shipped, or is in the process of being
shipped. This restructuring will allow us to deliver all our services on a
more timely basis. We have seen across the board improvement in all delivery
services since the filing.
FansRULE continues to operate as a business. We have taken this action to
better serve and protect our commitments to fans, artists, artist management
groups and employees. This is a reorganization to help strengthen the company in
doing business and ensure that FansRULE continues to operate and grow. We are
looking forward to a great year.
What Does this Chapter 11 Filing Mean for Me?
I've placed a ticket or merchandise order. When can I expect it?
Tickets for all events -- across all clubs -- have been shipped and should
already have been received. Merchandise has also been shipped, or is in the
process of being shipped. This restructuring is allowing us to ship all orders in
a more timely manner.
I'm owed a refund. When can I expect it?
The Court appointed Trustee is working with FansRULE to satisfy all refund
obligations. We cannot promise an exact date to expect refunds as there are
procedural rules that must be followed. We are moving as rapidly as we can and
apologize for the prolonged wait some of you are experiencing.
Should I renew my membership?
Absolutely. You can expect 2004 to be a great year. Since filing for
reorganization, delivery of our services has already improved. Taking this step has
allowed FansRULE to become a much stronger organization.
Is my favorite artist going to remain with FansRULE?
We have had discussions with our existing artists and have received their
support. We are making plans for future events now and have some exciting events
in the works. We also expect to continue to add big-name performers to our
roster in the coming months. We are extremely optimistic that the steps we have
recently taken will result in a much stronger business, enhanced concert
experiences/programs and in better overall service to you and our clients.
What other steps are you taking to improve FansRULE?
We're signing new and major musical artists. We've strengthened our
management team with new, experienced business managers. We continue to enhance key
operational areas. We are improving our technology with more sophisticated
systems to ensure timely and accurate delivery of services.
What happens next?
FansRULE is working with the federal court. We expect to emerge from
reorganization by early Spring.
I have more questions or concerns. How do I contact you?
Please send comments, suggestions or questions to us at

that make for a better fan experience.

- Bankruptcy Letter (DMAAT)
A fan from AF1 had posted a copy on a site. The case is filed in the Worcester MA Bankruptcy Court and the Case #
is 03-46505-HJB. To anyone who thinks otherwise, I am posting AERO RELATED
NEWS here and all fans affected should have this information. It may be that the
court/attorney only had a partial list of fans as "creditors" supplied to
them via AF1 so not all will receive the letter but might be owed money anyway.
One more FYI..there won't be much in the file yet since they just
filed in November. Total assets, total debt, etc probably. People
have until June 2004 to file a claim and THEN the courts will decide
how they must reorganize and who if anyone will get money. Usually
takes almost a year to complete these things. And no Fred, not
everyone who is owed money got a letter..at least not yet. I would
suggest if you DON'T get a letter and you ARE owed money you'd like
to see again, you contact the court/attorney to inquire about it.
- Where was the NYE performance recorded? (DMAAT)
They taped "Baby Please" in Minneapolis, but those who were there don't seem to recall Steven listing those New Years resolutions like he did on the TV special.
The audience were told ahead of time that this was gonna be taped for Dick Clarks NYE show and had the confetti dropped for Baby Please Don't Go, and wanted everyone to act like it was new years. At the end you can hear Steven say HAPPY NEW YEAR then at the end of the concert the confetti was dropped again, just like at all the other concerts
They taped at least two shows..maybe three..so it's quite possible they used
the intro from one and the show part from another or a combo..
- Automatic CC Charging for Renewals AF1 (DMAAT)
Just a reminder in light of things...this is stated as part of the membership
policy on the official AF1 site:
By completing the registration process, you authorize FansRULE, Inc. to
charge its Aero Force One membership fee to your designated credit card or checking
account every 12 months at the specified rate. Email reminders will be sent
to each Aero Force One member a month before their membership expires, to
provide the opportunity to either renew or cancel their membership(s). By agreeing
to renew your membership, your credit card will be billed at the beginning of
the 12-month cycle for the full year fee.
AND
Members are responsible for any charges to their account and in order to
avoid the full fee for renewing your membership, you must cancel your membership
before the new 12-month period begins. In the event your credit card is
inactive, a Customer Service representative will be contacting you for updated credit
card information.

AF1 members recently got a notification in the mail from court in MA that indicates Fansrule has filed for Chapter 11 (protection from creditors/reorganization).
One story floating around is that someone owed FR two million and did not pay

- Quotes from Two And A Half Men (DMAAT)
First, what I originally posted October 14, 2003:
Steven's name was mentioned in last night's episode of the CBS show "Two and a Half Men." Apparently the maid quit and they had to find her and she was at Steven's house doing his laundry. It was funny when you see her standing at the dryer folding the most outrageously looking pants. You didn't see him but he had 2 lines. Wasn't sure if that was really him speaking or if it was someone else but in the closing credits it said "Steven Tyler as himself".
---
What I just found out:
Tyler's voice was featured. Steven said something like, "Yo, Berta! If you're gonna screw a guy in the laundry room, at least put a scarf on the door!"
Berta, the maid, was getting a back massage from one of the characters, (so she would come back and work for him), and was making moaning noises.
